TGIF [3]

Hello! Are you glad it's Friday? Days really have no meaning for me now I have nothing to fill them with but I'm excited for today because I'm going to attempt to make Jambalaya for the first time!! Bringing the South of America to the North of England one dish at a time!

TGIF is hosted over at GReads, and her question this week is: "Where do you keep your books at home? Are they organised?"

Haha well...this is where I think I'm going to embarrass myself and reveal my slovenly ways to the world. See my books are...

Yep, that's right, my books are haphazardly stacked on my bedroom floor. See that huge stack, to the right? That's my TBR pile.

Highlights of the TBR pile are:

The 2nd Demon Trapper's book by Jana Oliver which I received today (Thanks Macmillan!)
The Daughter of Smoke and Bone ARC
Forever by Maggie Stiefvater
Divergent by Veronica Roth

The next stack along are my favourite series. Featured in this stack are:

My Cassandra Clare books
The Vampire Academy Series by Richelle Mead
The Nightworld and Dark Visions series by LJ Smith
The Strange Angels series by Lili St. Crow
And the Wolves of Mercy Falls trilogy by Maggie Stiefvater
then my signed and personalised copy of Sleight by Jenn Sommersby sits proudly on top!

The books in the middle are mainly Paranormal/Urban Fantasy, and they include:

The Sookie Stackhouse Mysteries by Charlaine Harris
The Vampire Diaries series by LJ Smith
The Shifters series by Rachel Vincent
and the Morganville Vampires series by Rachel Caine

The verrrry last stack includes my more MG fiction and also my SMALL contemp YA collection (I'm very much a paranormal girl)

Featured there is:

Maximum Ride series by James Patterson (1 2 and 3, the rest I refuse to acknowledge the existence of)
The Percy Jackson Series by Rick Riordan
The Declaration by Gemma Malley
and Mad Love by Suzanne Selfors.

So yeah, there are my book stacks. Before this, they were stacked up along the stairs, but my mum made me move them!

  3. Oh wow, how do you get to anything without sending the piles tumbling down? I love the haphazardness of it though. I don't like it when things look too organized. Plus you have some amazing books! I'm totally jealous of your Daughter of Smoke and Bone ARC.

  4. Wow, that's a lot of books! Mine are all stacked haphazardly too :P. Divergent is awesome by the way, I just re-read it and loved it just as much the second time round!

  5. I'm afraid that's going to be me, soon! I have a bookshelf but it's full already and now I'm just lining books up wherever there's space on the edges.

Hee, and there's always organisation in the chaos! I do the same.

  6. I also refuse to acknowledge the existence of the "other" Maximum Ride books. On my copies, I even Sharpied out the place on the cover where it lists them.

  8. I like that even though you don't have a shelf, you still organize them in some way. I'm probably gonna have to do something like this once my bookshelf decides that it has had enough and crumbles.

  9. I envy your books! You have lots! I only got a few. I think I have OCD tendencies some times lol! My books are arranged according to my favorites and sometimes according to their colors and sizes :) Whatever that looks good to me at the time. I'm a little moody so I re-organized my stuff often. It's frustrating sometimes though. Anyway, I hope you could visit my site and see my post too. Here's mine: http://books4juliet.blogspot.com/2011/07/tgif-at-greads-1-where-do-you-keep-your.html

  10. I wish I could keep mine like that..I tried and every time I wanted a specific book, other would fall from the top and hit me on the head!!

  11. *Divergent* is on my "I really need to read this" list, too. And I agree, the Maximum Ride books have lost their quality as they go along.
