Follow Friday [15]



Follow Friday is a collaboration between Parajunkee and Alison can Read, this week's question is:


Q. Talk about the book that most changed or influenced your life (was it a book that turned you from an average to avid reader, did it help you deal with a particularly difficult situation, does it bring you comfort every time you read it?).

 

Hmm well I can't really think of anything that's influenced my life to a huge degree, but I guess this series really cemented my love of paranormal fiction:

 

 

I read this aged 13 and I'd always been into the paranormal, I'd watched most of Buffy and Angel at this point, and I'd read the sort of paranormal books aimed at kids (witches etc) but this was probably my first YA paranormal series. Here I am 8 years later still reading it!!

    YA seems to be the path that led most of us to paranormal fiction...I know I was introduced to the genre through Twilight, and while that's far from my fav book, I owe it a debt of gratitude for leading me to others that I love. :)

    I never read the Wicca series! I've seen it around a lot though, one of the ONLY YA series my library actually has. Might have to read it one day :).

    Cate Tiernan is one my favorite authors simply because I grew up reading the Sweep series! I love her work, and it's always a good read!
