In My Mailbox [35]

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by The Story Siren

So...this week was looking pretty sparse as far as new books go, but THEN I got an email from Netgalley saying Random House Children's Book has me autoapproved. How nice, I thought, I'll just mosey on over and see what they have to offer....

BIG MISTAKE

I requested a couple and then I had to restrain myself... But they all looked so FREAKING awesome:

For review:
Hanging by a Thread by Sophie Littlefield
Murder mystery! for YA! Horaay!
Unspoken by Sarah Rees Brennan
I worship this woman.
Velveteen by Daniel Marks
The cover. The concept. The male author. Hello awesomeness.

I'd like to say thankyou to Random House Children's Books for autoapproving all requests from me...I love you.

So yeah...I'm pretty freaking excited. I'm also going to be starting 2 weeks work experience in the publicity department of...HARPERCOLLINS CHILDRENS' BOOKS (UK) on Monday so I think I'm about to burst from the excitment of it all...

What did you get in your mailboxes? Did you get anything I got? Are you looking forward to any of them? Let me know in the comments, and leave links to your own IMMs!!

It's a place where bloggers (or just reviewers in general) can pick up pre-release titles, e-ARCs, and, once approved, can read them in exchange for an honest review, which you can send in to the publisher directly using the website. I hope I explained it okay!

  8. Great mailbox haul! I recently received Unspoken too, and can't wait to read it! I also thought of requesting Velveteen because I loved the cover, and the synopsis sounded different and interesting. But I'd already requested several others, so I was holding off. Now I want to request it more than ever, though. Haha!

And you get to work with Harpers! HOW EXCITING!! I'm jealous!

  13. Auto-approval is BAD BAD BAD. Because there is NOTHING holding you back from requesting then. Not the fear of rejection. So resisting is 50 times more harder. But... it is kinda freaking awesome :D

AHH I am SO tempted to grab Velveteen! But I want to see what some of the early reviews were like first. I REALLY hope it lives up to the hype!

AND OMG. YOU. WORK EXPERIENCE. HARPER COLLINS. GASSSSSPPP. Okay, so maybe I'm thinking it's the pefect opportunity to be all ninja and steal an ARC of Insurgent, but... I'm not sure you want to arrested for theft on your first day. Sigh.

I hope you have an amazing time there!
