May Wrap Up Post

Wow we're in June which just *totally* baffles me! Where has the time gone??

Again, I want to apologise for my sporadic posting, I had The Trauma (as I'm now referring to the situation) and it's just sapped me of most of my desire to read/blog. I have watched a lot of TV though! All of Game of Thrones (- season 2 finale which is tonight, eeeek!) AND I'm almost up to date with Criminal Minds! I WILL be making a concentrated effort to drag myself out of myself and be more present in June

So this month I read 11 books. This doesn't sound *too* bad BUT 2 of them were novellas, 3 of them were read in 1 sitting and 2 were highly, highly anticipated. And there was one comfort reread. Anyway, they were:

A Faint Cold Fear by Karin Slaughter (4*)
Tempting the Best Man by J.Lynn
Weekend Agreement by Barbara Wallace
City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare (5*)
Dreaming of Amelia by Jaclyn Moriarty (4*)
In Honor by Jessi Kirby
Saving June by Hannah Harrington (re-read)
Dead Time by Anne Cassidy (3*)
Blood Bound by Rachel Vincent
My Soul to Steal by Rachel Vincent (3.5)
The Golden Lily by Richelle Mead (4*)

The break down was:
Adult: 3
YA: 7
Review: 1 (eek)
Challenge 2 (I'm pleased with this!)

I didn't get many books in May, but the ones I did get were:
Bought:
Tempting the Best Man by J.Lynn
City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare
In Honor by Jessi Kirby

Review:
The Golden Lily by Richelle Mead
Love and Other Perishable Items by Laura Buzo
Timepiece by Myra McIntyre
Pushing the Limits by Katy McGarry

Thanks to Netgalley and Penguin for these!

Won:
My Soul to Steal by Rachel Vincent (thanks Rachel from Fiktshun!!)

Library:
Dead Time by Anne Cassidy

In June I aim to read *a lot* more! How well did you guys do in May?

  1. May was my month to get back into blogging. So far it's going well :)

Oooohh, you read The Golden Lily! I'm glad you liked it. I still haven't read it yet, but it's definitely on my list of most awaited books.

I'm reading City of Lost Souls soon too so I'm glad you gave it 5 stars- I'm in a fragile, slowly getting back to reading a ton phase right now. I'm trying to read mostly awesome books :p

  2. Wow, you still did really awesome even with the slow down. I seriously need to read Tempting the Best Man. I bought it the day it came out and haven't had a chance to get to it yet. I need to just take a few days for "me" books. I really want to read that, Shadow Bound, and Dreamless. I haven't read many books just for me lately. I hope that things get better for you soon.

  3. 11 books is pretty good considering the situation. Hopefully June is a better month.
I'm reading City of Lost Souls at the moment and loving it. I still need to read Saving June, Hourglass, and Bloodlines very soon! So many good books coming out soon, hopefully I can read a lot more in June as well, and catch up.
    Enjoy the Bank Holiday!

  4. You still did way better than me, I read barely anything in May! And you got some great books too - Pushing the Limits is meant to be really good, and I haven't read Hourglass yet but heard loads of great things about the series! Hope you enjoy June :).

  5. I hope whatever your trauma was you can get back to blogging. I've missed your posts. (not to make light of whatever it was) :)

I've been enjoying your tweets about The Apprentice, even though I don't watch. They had me laughing.

  6. The Trauma sounds evil and depressing and like it needs it's ass kicked, but I hope you[re doing better now <3 *hugs*

SJDSHFNAKJDSHCFN. THE GOLDEN LILY! Le sigh. I guess I can wait a few more days until release... *twitch* And Saving June is totally reread worthy, so I'm glad to see it on your May accomplishments :D

I refuse to go count how many I read in May because I know it wasn't in the double digits...

  7. Tempting the Best Man hilarious and lovable from the very start. Madison is just your typical good girl, and her life long crush just happened to be her brother's best friend. J. Lynn offers this just in such a straight and no bull manner that it is easy to understand and connect with the characters emotions. With Madison harbor these feelings her entirely life, but having experienced Chase's rejection before it is easy to comprehend such uncertainty an confusion about his actions and declarations. This emotional roller coaster is definitely a short ride, and I tore through the pages so fast I was done in several hours. This appears to be a stand alone novel, as it was perfectly cut with its attention grabbing start, intense roller coaster romance, and happily ever after conclusion. This author is one of my favorites. For those that do not know this is another pen name for Jennifer Armentrout.
