Waiting on Wednesday V

I've gotten really behind on my memes this week! (You can blame my essays) But I had to make time for Waiting on Wednesday, because that's how I find out about loads of cool books. As always, this is hosted by Jill over at breaking the spine

My pick this week is:

Graveminder by Melissa Marr
Publishing date: 17th May 2011
Publisher: HarperCollins

Description from Goodreads:

Rebekkah Barrow never forgot the tender attention her grandmother, Maylene, bestowed upon the dead of Claysville, the town where Bek spent her adolescence. There wasn’t a funeral that Maylene didn’t attend, and at each Rebekkah watched as Maylene performed the same unusual ritual: three sips from a small silver flask followed by the words “Sleep well, and stay where I put you.”

Now Maylene is dead and Bek must go back to the place—and the man—she left a decade ago. But what she soon discovers is that Maylene was murdered and that there was good reason for her odd traditions. It turns out that in placid Claysville, the worlds of the living and the dead are dangerously connected. Beneath the town lies a shadowy, lawless land ruled by the enigmatic Charles, aka Mr. D—a place from which the dead will return if their graves are not properly minded. Only the Graveminder, a Barrow woman, and the current Undertaker, Byron, can set things to right once the dead begin to walk

My thoughts:

I love Melissa Marr's YA series, so I'm excited to see what her adult series will be like too. The concept of this book sounds really different aswell, and I'm hoping I'll enjoy it!

What's your WoW pick this week? make sure to post me your link so I can check it out!

  7. @Jenny I'm a fan of the first couple of books of the YA series, so I'll definitely recommend you giving them a go!

@Sally & Nina yeah this definitely appeals to a different audience than the WL books which is great, and maybe if people like this, they'll be tempted to give WL a go ;)
