Waiting on Wednesday 9

Waiting on wednesday is a weekly meme where we highlight books we're eagerly anticipating. This week I've chosen:

Dead Reckoning (Southern Vampire Mysteries book 11) by Charlaine Harris
Due to be published: 3rd May 2011
Publisher: Gollancz

Description from Goodreads:

With her knack for being in trouble's way, Sookie witnesses the firebombing of Merlotte's, the bar where she works. Since Sam Merlotte is now known to be two-natured, suspicion falls immediately on the anti-shifters in the area. But Sookie suspects otherwise and she and Sam work together to uncover the culprit - and the twisted motive for the attack. But her attention is divided. Though she can't 'read' vampires, Sookie knows her lover Eric Northman and his 'child' Pam well - and she realises that they are plotting to kill the vampire who is now their master. Gradually, she is drawn into the plot -which is much more complicated than she knows. Caught up in the politics of the vampire world, Sookie will learn that she is as much of a pawn as any ordinary human - and that there is a new Queen on the board

My thoughts:

If I'm honest; the last book was a bit of a let down. I feel like they're slowing down-and there's less of a mystery in them (which is one of the things I loved about them originally). But I've been reading this series for a long time; so I'm not about to give up on it! I think this book sounds a bit more exciting than the previous few; so I'm looking forward to it!

What are you all waiting for?

  3. I found the last book a bit blah, tied up a lot of loose ends. Thought it was really about Sookie and Eric and their marriage -- It was just a bit off key. It's as if after he got his memory back his personality was different and he was becoming a sensitive new age guy."Old follower".Happy Easter! Fangs, Wands and Fairy Dust
