Follow Friday!

Happy Friday! wooo! I hope you all have a great weekend, and those of you going to BEA next week (so totally jealous) enjoy yourselves! Those of you who can't make it to BEA- make sure to sign up to Armchair BEA-it looks like it's gunna be a boatload of awesome. I will be participating and so all my posts next week will be A.C BEA related-lil heads up for you there.

It's also my 3 month blogoversary tomorrow and so I've decided to launch a new feature to celebrate. I'll probably only do it once a month or so-but I'm going to post articles related to books/blogging. Tomorrow's topic will be:

Insta-love: can it be justified?

so please check back tomorrow for this!! =]

Okay, now onto the FF. As always it's hosted by the totally awesome Parajunkee and this week's question is:

"Can you tell us five quirky habits or things about you? We all have them..."

1. I hate milk. Hate hate hate it. But I love cereal. As a result, I eat a LOT of dry cereal. People always look at me weird when I confess this...
2. I have to listen to an audiobook to sleep because I suffer badly from insomnia. I always have-and I've always listened to audiobooks since I can remember. I'm also resistant to sleeping tablets, despite weighing less than 100lbs... (all the blogs I've visited so far list insomnia...do we not sleep cus we read, or do we read cus we don't sleep..or is it just an unassociated correlation? someone should do a study...)
3. I can say a lot of the words to most Buffy episodes. It's pretty much my only skill.
4. I'm really really messy. Ridiculously messy. Having a messy room makes me feel safer. I don't know where this has originated from, but it amuses/annoys a lot of people. Upon coming into my room one day my boyfriend commented "It looks like someone dropped a bomb on H&M"
5. I used to genuinely believe I had a separate stomach for chocolate because I could always always eat some chocolate. I still half think I have a separate chocolate stomach...no one has found out otherwise. I was a very fussy child but I would always eat chocolate. It drove my father mad-he tried everything to convince me to eat things that weren't chocolatey.

Leave your links so I can visit you all! And once again, happy friday!!

  1. I hate milk with a passion and I always get those odd looks when I stay at a friend's place and they make me cereal in the morning and I say no to milk. So i know exactly where you're coming from!!

  2. I love milk but I am lactose intolerant so it hates me :(

  3. I used to tell my mother that I had two stomachs. xD One for regular food and one for desserts. I'm also someone who doesn't love milk--I eat my cereal "dry" too.
And insomnia, yes! xD When a book gets really good, I have to keep reading it--even if I'm really tired (I can't sleep unless I finish the book).

  4. Hey Cait!
I think you and I are going to get along just fine ;) I'm a total chocaholic! And I'm messy. AND I have trouble sleeping most of the time! Thanks so much for following my blog!

  6. I know exactly what you mean by feeling safer in a messier room. I keep telling my parents that my messy room just makes me love my room. Plus have you ever noticed that when things are tidy in your room you seem to have trouble finding things?

  7. I've noticed the same thing about insomnia - and lots of writers say it too. I've had it my whole life. We're in good company :)

Like I was saying on another blog - studies have proven it's an evolutionary adapted behavior that signals intelligence, so it's not surprising readers have it!

  8. Not sure if I have insomnia really. Although it does take me awhile to fall asleep because I'm always getting ideas for the books I want to write myself.

    Here's my Friday Hops

    Have a GREAT weekend!

  9. I love chocolate too. I can be eating dinner and thinking about what chocolate I want to eat after. When there is no chocolate in the house, I'm not a happy woman. Happy Friday!

  11. Glad to see I'm not the only person who has difficulty sleeping ... strange how many readers are afflicted. Hmm ... not giving up reading though! I'm also not the only one plotting out books in their head either, not feeling so strange now.

Already a follower just passing through.

  12. OMG, me too on the milk thing!!! I absolutely despise milk, so I always eat my cereal dry. My husband always says "Why are you eating it with a spoon if there isn't any milk in it?". He thinks I'm completely weird.

Well, I like milk, but when I still lived with my parents I used to eat cornflakes directly from the box :)

  15. I don't suffer from insomnia. Though I have been known to wake up in the middle of the night thinking about a book.

  16. Hi I'm am old followering hopping through to wish you a happy Friday! I don't have insomnia but I willingly trade sleep-time for reading-time if I haven't gotten enough during the day!

  17. I have a hard time sleeping at night too... I should totally give listening to audiobooks a try!

  18. I would love to clean for you! Lol, folding underwear and socks is not the only thing I'm good at! And I have insomnia as well and nothing helps me to go to sleep! It drives me insane. Have a great Friday! Thanks for stopping by!

  19. I'm like Jules, I love it but am intolerant. I always said "Who doesn't like chocolate?" until I met someone who did... very surprising day. I also have a friend who's allergic to chocolate, and I feel really bad for her!

I've always been curious when I hear people fall asleep to audiobooks and this may be a dumb question because I've never listened to an audio book, but how do you know where you were? Do you just remember and set it back?

I'm a new follower, your blog is awesome! Thanks for stopping and saying hello, here's my FF.

  21. Do you like chocolate milk? Or, do you dislike all types of milk?

    ReplyDelete
  22. I don't hate milk, but I don't drink it as often as they suggest people should.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I don't like the taste of plain milk. I can drink gallons of chocolate milk though. I do put milk on my cereal, but I don't actually drink any of the milk. I pick the cereal out and leave all the milk behind.

  24. Gasp! You're a fellow Buffy lover? I'm not to the point where I can quote the episodes, but I can get a line or two in each...I'm obsessed! :)

Anyway, I have a sister who doesn't like milk, either, unless it's chocolate. Lol.

  25. I love Buffy too!!! Thanks for stopping by on the Friday Follow...have a great weekend!

  26. Oh, messiness. Personally I think that's a hallmark for creativity. (Or so someone said.) One thing that I think is funny is that I have a friend who hates chocolate. She always tells me I have a separate stomach just for it as well. Well, that and all of other kinds of junk food.

  27. I love milk AND cereal but sometimes I do eat my cereal dry. Hi! Just stopping by. Following you from the Feature and Follow Friday blog hop. Would love a follow back: http://blog.writerslairbooks.com. I also have twitter: @wlbks and a facebook page: www.facebook.com/flightlessgoose. Have a 'good read' weekend!

  28. OMG, I thought I was the only Buffy geek! I think I know all the words, too! LOL!

I'm not doing the hop this weekend but thought I'd stop by and say Hey! Another Buffy fan, chica, we must talk! How do you feel about the Winchester boys?

  29. I don't know how to answer your insomnia question. I didn't realize that so many readers have insomnia.

  30. Hopping through. Another milk hater! I've eaten dry cereal since I was 3. It sometimes tastes good with applesauce.

  31. LOL, my friend and I always ate cereals without milk before, like sweets. My mom always says my room looks like a bomb has exploded as well, lol. I do have periods though, haha. And I always memorise movies, LOL. I could quote all Twilight & HP movies for example. It sooo annoys people sitting besides me. Mwahah...

I've also seen a lot of insomnia! Very interesting thoughts that!

Old follower--finally having time to visit other blogs again, with the worst in school over! Phew. One more week... LOL. My quirky list can be found here!

Yeah, I'm an insomniac too! Though I never thought it might be my book reading was the problem. What a revelation...
